Northwest Alabama Baptist Institute has left a very distinctive mark on the North Alabama, North Mississippi and Southern Tennessee areas during her brief but distinguished history. NABI began in 1995 as a ministry of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Tuscumbia, Alabama under the direction of Dr. Andy E. Lee and Dr. David Gregg. In 2001 the school came under the authority of Avalon Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of Dr. Johnny Johnston, Dr. Andy E. Lee and Bro. Grady Parrish.
In the fall of 2012, the school once again moved and came under the authority of Heritage Missionary Baptist Church, with the Baptist Chapel in Grand Bay, Alabama being her sponsoring church. Bro.Steve Merritt serves as her president with Dr. Allen Barton (Pastor of Heritage Missionary Baptist Church) as acting president and Bro. Scott Webber as Dean of Students.
The privilege that we have to teach Christian workers and local pastors the Truth and to prepare them for a life of service to the Lord is very exciting, and a responsibility we at NABI do not take lightly.
The mission of NABI is simple and has remained unchanged throughout her history. First, NABI stands fast on the fundamental doctrines that make Missionary Baptists what we are... Scriptural New Testament Churches. The best way we can safeguard these truths is the teaching of the Word of God. Secondly, we strive to make every possible effort to offer a sound Bible education to those who desire to have it. While our programs are focused on men who are of the same faith and order, and who have accepted God's call into the ministry, we also offer classes to the lay member who simply desires to be a better worker for the Lord.
We would ask you to prayerfully consider becoming a part of NABI. A solid Bible education is something to be treasured and desired after, and NABI is a means by which to accomplish your goals and become the best soldier for the Lord you can possibly be.
NABI is a non-profit organization, organized for the purpose of offering Christian training in Biblical Studies, Christian Counseling, Theology, and Biblical Languages. We invite you to train in order to be mighty for the Lord at a school for those whom God has called to service. We focus on the specialized needs of the local ministry. Our courses are practical and are designed to enhance the work of the student, preparing today's leaders for tomorrow's work.
